The types of questions that can be asked during the telephonic interview round are as follows
1. TELL ME SOMETHING ABOUT YOURSELF?
ANSWER- The answer to this question can include a brief description of your family and educational background also add a little information related to your past work experience and how it’s relevant to the current job position you have applied for. You can also talk about your interests that can help you perform your job better. As this question is an eye breaker between you and the interviewer try to answer nicely and be prepared well in advance.
2. WHY DO YOU WANNA APPLY FOR THIS JOB?
ANSWER- This question should be answered by relating the experience of your previous job with the current JD (JOB DESCRIPTION) and your personal qualities should be a perfect fit for the job. Also talk about how your education is relevant for the job position. Just keep your focus on the requirement of the job and don’t talk about your personal growth and certainly not about money.
3. WHY DO YOU WANT TO LAEAVE YOUR CURRENT JOB?
ANSWER- Make sure you don’t say a lot of negative things about your last company this will make the interviewer think that you are somebody who can’t stay loyal to the company. Try to keep your focus more on the current job opportunity.
4. WHY DO YOU THINK WE SHOULD HIRE YOU FOR THIS JOB POSITION?
ANSWER- Focus your answer on qualities or skills you possess and which are related to the job position. Just prepare the list of all the qualities and skills you think are relevant to the job profile explain to the interviewer how these skills will help you perform the job better.
5. WHAT ARE YOUR STREGHTS AND WEAKNESSES?
ANSWER- Mention the strengths that will help you perform your job better and for weaknesses just point the quality that might not be required in the job profile. And if in case you think your weakness might affect your credibility than tell the interviewer that if given opportunity you can work upon making it your strength.
6. RATE YOURSELF ON THE SCLAE OF 1-10?
ANSWER- Interviewer might ask this question for the field that is important for the job. For example an interviewer can ask a coder to rank his/her coding skill on the scale of one to ten. You can rate yourself according to your knowledge level and experience in that field. Also explain why did you gave this particular ranking for your skills.
7. HOW MUCH SALARY DO YOU EXPECT AND WHEN CAN YOU JOIN US?
ANSWER- If you get these two questions at the end it means you have successfully impressed the interviewer. For the salary question, you can tell the interviewer that you need to learn more about the profile first and after a personal interview, you will decide the salary. If in case you are a fresher tell interviewer that salary is on your concern as a fresher you are here to learn as it’s just a start of your career. For the joining, date keep your notice period and all other commitments in your mind make sure you decide that day when your notice period will be completely served and you have no other commitments left.
